Welcome to the registration page for the VIRTUAL Rockville 10K/5K & Kids' Fun Run!
The Rockville 10K/5K and Fun Run is back, but virtually for 2020. The purpose of the Rockville 10K/5K and Fun Run is to get the citizens of Rockville out of the house and engaged in physical activity. The same "rules" apply as the in-person event, except that you can run whenever and wherever you want. Register for the race and run your distances (10k, 5k, or 1 mile) between now & November 1st to support the City of Rockville Recreation Fund. You can even self-report your time at the website afterwards. No awards this year, but lots of fun and fitness are bound to happen. This race is a big fundraiser for the City of Rockville Recreation Fund, which provides financial assistance to those who may have difficulty participating in the City’s recreational programs. Donations to the Rockville Recreation Fund are considered tax deductible.
Q: Do we have to run/walk on November 1st?
A: No, you do not! Run any time before (and including) November 1st to upload your time to the race website. If you run after November 1st, your time may not get uploaded to the race website. If you can live with that, we can too!
Q: Will you give out a race t-shirt or awards this year?
A: Not this year. We want to keep everyone safe and not around a crowd of people to pick up shirts, so we decided to offer this race for free for all participants this year and not offer a race t-shirt. Since we can’t come together and compete simultaneously under identical conditions and course, we will also not be offering awards for the fastest runners in the race. But please know that we are very proud of you for your performance and support of the City of Rockville. Well done!
Q: What about race photos?
A: We get it. Pictures or it didn’t happen. We will happily accept photos of you running or walking, that we can put on our Facebook page! Please send photos (<500 KB please) to Rockville10k5k@gmail.com with the subject line “2020 Virtual Rockville 10k5k Photos”. And don’t forget to smile, even if you’re wearing a mask!
Q: I heard there is a digital bib - how do I access that?
A. Yes, it's true! The bibs are personalized just for you & ready to download to make your race feel more "official." You should have received an e-mail with a link to your digital bib after you registered for the event. If you can't find that, you can download your bib from your profile as follows:
If you log into RunSignUp, you should be able to access it from your Profile under the Upcoming Events Tab through the View Digital Bib link -- see screenshots below:
You should also be able to access it via the Digital Bib tab on your Registration Management page by logging onto RunSignup, navigating to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Manage Registration. The Digital Bib option can be either located on the top of the page or on the left of the page. See screenshots below for reference.
Q: Do I have to upload my results & how do I do that?
A: Results can be uploaded manually, by visiting the race registration page on RunSignUp and clicking on "Results." The RunSignUp page can be found here. As this event is being conducted "for fun" and results are on the honor system, there is no prize money or age group awards. However, as your mother always said, if you cheat -- you are only cheating yourself.
The course map for the Rockville 10K/ 5K can be found here.
